Cozy, But Not Warm Enough

I just returned from a 7-night backpacking trip with this bag. I like the bag - the fabric, the quality of it, even the zipper that doesn’t catch the fabric. Admittedly, I am a cold sleeper. Still, I was disappointed that a 5 degree bag was not warm enough for me with ~40 degree nights; I also wore 250 gsm Smartwool bottoms and tops, as well as a down puffy jacket.

I spent hours and hours researching for the best sleeping bag for a trip I was taking. Reading many reviews, watching videos, and shopping for the most value I could find. I made my purchase hoping that the product was what I thought it could be. Boy, was I surprised when I received the package. I thought the product was not in the package due to weight of the box. The sleeping bag is so light. The size of the bag is very roomy. The zippers are of good quality and baffles help keep it from catching. The down and fabric is very impressive. Warm, light, and roomy make this sleeping bag worth the purchase.

Great Sleeping Bag

This is obviously not a cheap sleeping bag but if it is in your budget it is well worth getting. It is super warm and comfortable. In fact, maybe a bit too warm on the first trip I took with it when it "only" dropped to just about freezing. The way the zipper works it was easy to "vent" to control the temperature. It packs down pretty small considering the 5 degree rating. As you would expect at this price-point, the quality is top notch.

Warmest Winter Sleeping Bag I Ever Used!

I tried out several other different winter sleeping bags and this one is the best! It is very warm and comfortable to sleep in because of the material it's made of. I slept out outside on top of the snow with my insulated air mattress and this sleeping bag. The temp. was 11° F/ -11.66° C and when I woke up the sleeping bag was covered with a heavy frost. There was no damp feeling inside the bag and I was warm the whole time. I'm very happy with this purchase it was a little pricey but well worth it.

Had this bad out once so far. Did not test the lower temp limits of the bag (had it to 20 degrees) and it was definitely toasty and seemed like it would be fine a fair amount colder (I vented it a little at that temp). Construction is excellent - I also have a feather friends 20 degree bag and the zipper, cord locks, and snap on the collar are all a fair amount more robust on the WM bag.

Lightest Warmth You Can Get, With Solid Function

WM bags are usually the lightest warmth you can get for the weight, and this bag is no exception. While it's sparse on features (don't expect an inner pocket for glasses/contacts/etc. for example), what is there works and works well. You can tell attention has been paid to important details - there's lightweight but effective plastic material near the zipper to prevent snags, and the cinching pulls near your face are full sized and easy to find, despite the concentration on low weight. I've used the bag only down to about 10 degrees Fahrenheit, but it felt plenty warm and I wouldn't hesitate to use it at its intended rating. I tend to run a bit warm, if that helps.
