I love these shoes! I bought them for work because I work at a car wash and I love them! I am on my feet all day and work around water. These definitely keep my feet dry and comfortable.

Bought these a month ago as I was getting back into backpacking / long day hikes after some years. I broke them in around the house and local parks but did not get time for a smaller hike before heading to Central America. These boots stood up to the rain and technical terrain, providing comfortability and stability.

My ultra 4s wore out which were great so I replaced them with the 5s just not as comfortable. The tongue is way too thick to get a good lace tie. And they are not the same feel.

I have I have worn these boots for the last month at work and absolutely love them. I do roughly 18,000 steps a day at work and have no fatigue at the days end. They comfortable and seem to be holding up well. Very light weight also

These boots were great right out the box. Super comfortable with no break in. After 100+ miles they still look practically fresh out the box so I'm expecting a good life out of them. Supportive and light, they've been perfect for me as a day-hiker.

I bought the Salomon X Ultra 5 Mid level hiking shoe. I wore these shoes almost every day and love them. They are super comfortable and have great tread when walking on slanted or wet surfaces. I recommend these shoes to anyone who enjoys every day walking on hiking trails or even on paved roads.

These boot have become my do everything boots. Yes, I’ve gone hiking in the rain, mud and blazing heat in these boots. But I also walk the dogs in the morning and evening because they are so comfortable. They are light, nibble and fit perfectly.

I bought a pair of the X Ultra 5 Mid GTX for a recent trip to Iceland. While I was not doing any heavy hiking, the hikes on wet rocks, jagged lava, muddy trails and Sandy beaches and even city touring were a pleasure with these boots. Comfortable, lightweight, sturdy and extremely grippy were exactly what I needed. My feet were dry the entire trip! I only regret was not trying this brand earlier. I’m an avid x-country skier and have always loved Salomon boots. I can’t wait to test these in NH White Mountains this summer.

I've worn these on three hikes in preparation for the Inca Trail. No blisters, no hotspots, no need to break them in. The sole is at the midpoint between a trail runner and a trad hiking boot, so not soft but not super stiff. Rocks are noticeable but not an issue. I've been hiking on warm days and the heat on my feet isn't insufferable. I'd but a half size higher next time especially if you plan to add insoles. My superfeet make them a little too tight after 6 miles.

These shoes are unbelievably comfortable and extremely durable. I deliver packages in Minnesota for a living and I have tried all of the other brands of hiking boots and nothing comes close NOTHING.

There are several factors on this that just seem overlooked but are easy fixes. First is the pull up tab on the back. Why is it so low on the shoe? It is meant to help open the boot to make it easier to slide on but instead is too low for it to be useful. The shoe laces are a terrible material. Like the reviews say, it doesn't matter how tight they are but they will come undone. If you switch out the next issue is the "eyes" for the laces at the top. The back where you put the laces in stick up in the back and snag the lace. You will eventually rip them out. Shoe is comfortable and more waterproof than it looks. I have only had them for a year so I cannot speak on longevity. There is a part of fabric coming undone a few months ago.

I bought this a couple weeks ago. I've gone on 3 hikes already. Extremely comfortable.

Tremendous support in the sole of the boot, very solid ankle support. Gave me more push when hitting up hills and uneven terrain.

Have used these on several hikes so far and the difference between these and my old hiking shoes is night and day! Get these if you want excellent hiking boots!
