I purchased this pair for our October Iceland hiking adventures. First pair I’ve owned and I really enjoy these. My feet always stayed warm and dry. In fact, after one of the day hikes my feet were the only ones not wet!! It look forward to my next hiking adventure with these awesome comfortable hiking boots!

Got these for a backpacking trip to Canyonlands NP. Soles are incredibly grippy, more than any I have tried before. Outer shell is mostly rubberized, which offers great protection but I am concerned about the long term durability. With my use, they should probably last about a year. If that is the case I am hoping either GTX or Salewa will honor a warranty request. Keep in mind: manufacturer warranty for these is 3 years if you register the product with Salewa. overall the boot preformed great on and off trail, the sole is a lot stiffer than it looks. In the mid 20's temps, I was feeling the cold, so they aren't SUPER thermal. Lacing system is nice, and built in gaiter works well. Definitely a great boot if you like to go off trail!

No need to break them in, super comfy and so far looks durable. They’ve done great hiking in warm and cold weather. Just live them really !!!

Used to use a couple other (top rated) brands. Both had their issues. Haven't had Salewas too long but all three models i have are the most solid and comfortable shoes/hiking/ mountaineering boots I've ever owned. Salewa for me only from now on.

Boots are completely destroyed after one hike, stringing on side of boots have snapped in multiple locations velcro on top of boot will not stay fastened.

Shoes are awesome, just make sure you have some good boot socks. As one person said “ they are what salomans wish they could be.” I only see them getting better as they break in.

Amazing approach hiking boot, had extraordinary dexterity , flex and support , my whole lineup is salewa ! You can’t go wrong with these shoes true to size - 6 pairs of my salewas and one pair la sportivas!

So let me start by saying i do NOT use these for hiking. I use them for more of a tactical/off the pavement application. I work 24hr shifts and wear these the entire shift multiple times a week. THIS IS THE MOST COMFORTABLE AND CAPABLE BOOT I HAVE EVER WORN. Anything that laces to the toe gets my attention and that what led me to these. My biggest fear with this boot is that it will get discontinued one day. Ive worn them from anything to standing around in the station, vehicle wrecks on highways, brushfires to running and gunning on the flat range. These boots have not missed a beat and other than some fading of the suede (from brush fires and being cleaned with truck wash) they dont even show any signs of wear. Buy them, you wont ever go back to what youre wearing now.

I bought a pair about a month ago. I got then to replace my trx4. I got the sportivas as an approach shoe for a GT trip and they turned into my go-to boot. The fit of the Salewa is not much different from the sportiva. I took the Salewas on a 26 mile at Red River Gorge, KY. I took them right out of the box and went on my way. I was carrying a 30lb pack. I had my dog with me so I had 4lbs of dog food. Trial condition were muddy and steep. Comfort was great except for a pressure on my Achilles tendon that I wasn't use to and by the next day it was sore. It wasn't a rub it was just a pressure point that was not present in my previous boots. Traction/grip was phenomenal I can't really recall slipping at all. Waterproof, was also great no issues. Fit, there they were roomier than they look and while not wide, they were had volume. Plus they come with a extra set of insoles to help customize the fit. I do wish the gaiters were more snug. I get a lot of crap in my boot regardless of the attached gaiter. I wear a size 11.5 in Salo, Arc, and Low. I wear a 12 in Sportiva. The 12 in this Salewa was best for me. I currently have 40+ miles on these and they are doing well. I'll update when I finish my Teton Crest Trail trip in September. The last time I did the TCT 2 years ago I wore a pair of boots that fell apart in 9 miles. I hiked the entire route with soaking wet feet, but even that couldn't ruin that trail. INCREDIBLE!!!. I know these Salewas won't disappoint.

Shoes fit good out of the box, true to running shoe size, gaiter was to loose and pretty much a useless feature. The bottom quality of the shoe look excellent and while hiking and playing around on rock seemed to perform well. After 2 short hikes I was satisfied with shoe, then went on a 7 mile hike and at mile 5 developed an irritation where the Achilles meets the heel, the heel cup of this shoe is not padded and because of the duel purpose of it’s design the heel cup raps tight along that area so for me they did not work successfully as a hiker ☹️

I bought this boot not having any knowledge about the company or the boot. I’m impressed with the quality and the fit. I’m a cop and needed a comfortable pair of boots for work. These boots are more than what I could have asked for. Super excited to see how they wear over a long period of time.

I bought a pair of these boots about a month and a half ago. Very comfortable and light weight. Clean and durable. Excellent shoes for running and hiking.

Both my husband and I bought these show for work on our farm. Now that winter has come they are also useful for getting around when the streets are icy. Would highly recommend! I am a woman who bought the men's shoe (because I preferred all black) and there are multiple options to make it more narrow as needed.

I’ve had these for over a month now, I got them to use as a work boot. I’m on my feet all day, pushing, pulling, and moving stuff as I do work in a warehouse setting. Ive been caught outside in the rain a few times and they’ve kept my feet dry. no doubt that these would be great for hiking or whatever you decide to use them for, I wear these just about every day.
