Great All Around

The Foray is a great rain jacket. OR never disappoints, I’ve had this as a rain check for two years now and it’s great in warmer climates with lots of rain to moderately cold temps. I’ve worn this near the Arctic Circle to the coast of southern Alaska in the summer and it’s held up well. It’s flexible enough that it doesn’t present as a Hard Shell but light enough that if I need to layer I can. My main gripe is it’s a bit straight fitting, not athletic or tactical. So it tends to “swish” on me and annoys me slightly when hiking. This isn’t a huge issue as nothing catches to cause gear issues, but an odd feeling at first. Plenty of use on extreme terrain in the mountains. This can definitely take the punishment of a family man with kids in tow.

Side Zipper Vents 100% Awesome!

My all time favorite jacket. The side zipper vents are a real game changer! They have made great upgrades in durability with the waterproofing fabric over the years.

Poor Performance When It Matters

I bought this jacket on Boxing Day 2025. Since then I’ve only used it in the city or in light rain and it has performed, which is to be expected. I work as a biologist and finally got caught in some heavy rain while out in the field near Attawapiskat. Very disappointed with the inadequate waterproofing on this shell. After the heavier rain had passed, I decided to throw on a layer under the shell as I was getting cold. When I removed the shell, my arms were soaked through to my elbows and my upper torso was also soaked through. This was the first real test for this jacket and for me, it failed immensely. My previous Columbia jacket was half the price, and still doesn’t soak through after 6 years of use in the field. And that jacket has been up close and personal with many sticks and branches during those years. Considering this shell is double the price, I am incredibly disappointed in its waterproof performance. I wonder if it has anything to do with the PFAS free nature of the jacket. Do yourself a favour and buy something else that will keep you dry when it matters most.

Excellent Jacket

I am happy with the color and fit of the Foray Rain Jacket. I especially like the side zipper "poncho" mode feature that allows for more breathability while still keeping me dry. The material feels durable while still being packable and lightweight. I've enjoyed using this jacket camping, hiking, mountain biking, and spectating sports.

Side Venting Is Like Instant Ac

Rain protection is great; rain just beads up with Nikwax finish. The best part is the full side vents which you can easily adjust as you become active while facing inclement weather and stay cool and remain dry.

Amazing Features, Breathability, And Waterproofing

My Foray kept me bone dry during hours of rain and walking through wet brush even after the rain ended. The pit zips going all the way to the bottom hem makes it great for keeping coverage from the rain while being able to release body heat to ventilate, I used that when the rain had ended but every branch and leaf still was wet so it kept me dry still.

This jacket has been a life saver already. Its gotten me through 2 storms where I had to walk over a mile in pouring rain and it help firm. My boots where wet, my socks were wet, but not my top cause this jacket works. Its sleek, fits well, looks good and is one of the best rain jackets I've owned. Its perfect for everything from daily commute to hiking.

Fits great, appears very well made. Quality rain jacket. Haven’t worn it in a downpour yet but I have no doubt that it’ll keep me bone dry.

Fits Like A Garbage Bag

Not true to size. I'm 5'10", 180 lbs and the size large is way too big. The sleeve length is about right but it has there's way too much extra room in the waist and torso, making it hang off of me like a loose tarp. If you plan on wearing it over a thick sweatshirt or something it might be fine. For anything athletic I would recommend sizing down though unless you want to look like a giant rectangle.

Great Rain Gear.

I have used OR gear and have never been disappointed. This jacket would be great for any outdoor pursuits. Well built. Great on my last backpack trip. Use during fly fishing trips and dog walks. Very well designed with lots of ventilation. I normally wear an XL and this seem a bit larger. However, there is extra room for layers.

Really good at keep the water out. Not not as light weight as I had hoped it would be.

Great Jacket.

Great jacket. To date, it has yet to fail me in any conditions and worth every dollar spent on it.

Great Jacket But The Seams Aren't Very Durable.

This was an excellent jacket when I bought it. In fact It would have stayed an excellent jacket but I had it for a few years then the seams started coming apart. It's like the glue just gave in after a certain time. I tried getting seam glue and glueing it back on but it's still coming off.. I still use it and it's still working I guess but yea... wish it wasn't falling apart

Lightweight and form fitting, not super baggy like others.

Great Jacket

Premium feel, great quality. Only knock is the zipper seam had some wrinkles in it but they’ve worked out as I’ve worn it
