My thermometer never measures above about 450-500 no matter how long the oven is on for pre-heating. I'll likely by another one somewhere else to use that is more reliable.

This little gadget is the best invention behind the Ooni oven. It is spot on for checking the temperature of what you are cooking, the oven, or anything.

Not worth payint $20 more to have "Ooni" on it. I fould int for cheaper and for the amount of times it will be used, I'm OK not having the same brand as the pizza oven.

My husband loves his thermometer. We live in Phoenix and have endured an extreme July. He tested our pool decking with the themometer and it was too hot! It works well on food too!

Very accurate as compared to industrial infrared thermometers. Well worth the price as with all Ooni products.

A very useful tool for checking the temp of the stone. Easy to use also. Costs more than other brands, but my son (also has an Ooni oven) bought an off brand cheaper IR thermometer and has problems with it after less than a year.

Very nice infrared thermometer…when I first got this I thought the colored display was not working…but I realized that you have to point it to a heated surface….and WOW…the colored wheel display appeared. The unit fits nice in your hand and is built solid. Overall I am very pleased with it….I have purchased 6 extra items since my Karu 12g oven and everything is well made and well designed. Great job Ooni !!

The digital thermometer works great. In case you leave it outside with the oven while making your pizza or store out in the garage when not in use, it tend to throw an error code, ER 1. While this is not covered in the manual, it appears to be related to overheating the ambient air temp. After changing batteries didn't work I realized the unit was warm from sitting in the sun for 15 minutes. I stuck it in the fridge for a few minutes and it worked fine.

Perfect. Does what you need it to do.. My pizza came out better when I knew what the temp was in the oven. Guessing doesn’t deliver perfect pizzas. Knowing does.
