I love my pair of New Balance Fresh Foam More, but I wanted shoes with more of a drop to take pressure off my ankle and achilles. So, I tried this new version of New Balance 1080s based on the good reviews. I'll agree that they have good energy return and a springy feel, but there just isn't enough cushion under the ball of my foot. Looking overhead at the top of the shoe, you can see how narrow the sole and attached cushion is under the toe area compared to other shoes. I'm returning these and going back to the Fresh Foam Mores.

This would be the 3rd time I’ve bought 1080s and these are nothing like the previous versions. Just awful. Feels cheaply made, but cost more than previous versions. I could work 3, 12 hour shifts on my feet with the previous versions and not have foot pain. I can’t make it a full shift with these and my feet are hurting. There isn’t as much cushion and the fit in the toes just feels off. Really disappointed!

Wide Width Not That Wide!
I bought these to replace my previous 1080s which I loved. While the updated version does have a nice bouncey underfoot feeling, the width is not as wide and I get some discomfort with prolonged wear that I didn’t experience with my previous pair. If it wasn’t marked as D width I would have thought it was just a normal width. The toe box also feels less roomy. Overall I’m quite disappointed given how expensive these shoes are.
