Best Sun Shirt Out There!

I have 3 Crater Lake Sun shirts, two that are long sleeve and one hooded. They are so comfortable and wash up well. I can’t say enough good things about them. You won’t be disappointed.

More Colors Please!

Awesome fabric. Soft. It stretches in all the right places. Since I don't like shirts/tops with a hood, I was super pumped to find this style, which can go under other layers or be worn on its own. I bought one color, and loved it so much I found two more colors. I would buy this shirt in all colors of the rainbow! So my advice to MH is to add lots of solid colors. And remember, no hood!

Great Fit

This was my first sun-protective shirt that wasn't a button-up. I was surprised at how light and cool it is. Much better for hiking, running & biking. And - for once - my normal size fit well - loose without being baggy. I will probably be buying another one soon.

Light, Cool Spf50!

I bought this for the SPF rating and immediately fell in love with the soft light fabric. I now own 3. Much lighter and cooler than the average SPF long sleeve tshirts. I live in hot humid South Florida and this is the coolest SPF shirt I have found, wet it and it is even cooler. I use them for kayaking and want a little looser fit so ordered a large. I normally wear a size 8 or medium and have broad shoulders, long arms,130 lbs, 5'5. The large is loose enough and long enough to modestly cover part of my behind when wearing leggings but not baggy.

Not For Everyone

I regret ordering an extra large as it was too large. I usually wear a large or extra large in tops. I have two other tops from this brand in large so I should have ordered large, not size up. From the reviews I was concerned it might be too fitted but it was not. Another reason for my return is I do not care for the fabric, as it is a bit to thin and silky for me, not soft enough, not similar to cotton in any way. This is absolutely fine for some people but I did not realize before seeing it in person that it is this way. I never wear "tech shirts" or nylon-feel shirts but I wasn't sure where this would fall on the range between cotton-like and nylon-like. I tried it based on good reviews and I can understand how some people like it but this shirt did not work for me.

New Favorite Shirt

I loved the looks of this in the store and the feel is so soft. I had to have two. Wore it all day and it feel fabulous on…..looking forward to more colors. I bought the dark blue and the white with tan blotches.

Nice But Big And Not Light Enough

The fabric feels soft and comfy, but I regret not sizing down. I used it for cycling (bikepacking). It is a bit thicker fabric than a sun shirt, which is what I was hoping for. It was too hot when temps got above 85. It's so hard shopping online! I wouldn't recommend it for bikepacking.

Love Crater Lake Shirts

I love the crater lake fabric. I wore it on a hike on a hot day and it kept me cool and protected from the sun. More colors please

Heavy, Terrible Fit

I bought this shirt to replace my Patagonia Capeline Cool. This shirt is terrible in comparison. It's physically heavy - my scale has the XS weighing 4.5 ounces. In addition, the fit is enormous, especially around the waist. I'm 5'2", 115 lbs.

Super Versatile

[Employee of mountainhardwear] I love the feel of the lightweight fabric and the fact that it is UPF 50. I needed something for hiking and backpacking that could keep me protected but wasn't too specific. This is versatile and the fit is great. I have a longer torso and this fits perfectly: Not too long, not too short!

Lightweight And Super Comfortable Shirt

I will be wearing this shirt all summer. I wish they made more colors in solids because the patterns aren’t very versatile.
