Rain Fly Flaw

Quick release and tightening points on rain fly are of poor quality leaving them unable to stay tightened therefore furthering an unstable platform that doesn't pair with tent properly(symmetrically)

Tent Too Small And Zipper Would Stick

Tent was too small, not good quality but definitely lightweight

Strato Ul 2 Tent

Tent pole snapped, third time setting it up. Very small for a two person tent. It’s super lightweight and compacts small. Would be good for one person.

Solid Tent! A Couple Small Cons

Pros: Lightweight and the most easily packable tent I've used. Cons: A little finicky to set up. Took me 45 mins to get it the way I wanted on the first try. Also not a huge fan of the white rainfly.

Great Size And Weight Especially With The Sale Price!

I really like this tent, it’s lightweight and I got it on sale so the price point was excellent when comparing other manufacturers tents of a similar weight class. I set it up at home first to work the bugs out and have used it twice on trips with no issues. Setup is really quite easy after a couple runs through the process, takes about 15 minutes for a good pitch with the tent and fly. Fits two sleeping pads and two people well, but not much room for gear, bags stay outside at night. Looking forward to many more nights outdoors!

Roomy, Comfortable. Not Sure About Storm Stability

Excellent value and roomy for a 2-person tent. We experienced a lot of condensation, which pulled the rainfly down and made a wet mess when exiting the tent in the morning. I'm not sure how the tent would perform in a downpour. But, overall, I think this is a great buy.

Took A Chance On Sale.

My wife purchased this tent for an upcoming Grand Canyon trip. Just set it up to confirm everything is good. Typical Mountain Hardwear quality is present. Not seeing any manufacturing flaws and materials feel good. I don’t like the white rain fly. It’s not going to dry quickly like a dark color would. At 6’0” tall the tent feels cramped especially with a thick Xped mattress. Two 25” mattresses fit but not like the measurements would imply. At the head end they are still pushing out on the walls. Worse at the feet. Advertised measurements are an exaggeration of reality. The foot corner stake out system is crap but at least our mattresses will hold the tent shape. Stakes will be useless in sand as they are tiny to save published weight. Work OK in forest soil. Door zips seem to work OK with one hand. Headroom sucks while laying in it and there won’t be much sitting up with two people in the tent. Heavy breeze currently and tent is holding its shape OK. Wouldn’t want to have to survive much more wind without additional guy lines. I didn’t weigh it to compare to spec but feels light enough. Desert sand will be hard on the tent and we decided to get this and treat it as disposable. I wouldn’t want it for long term anyway. I have a teepee style tent I use in the alpine and forest environment I love but was not going to be a good choice on sand.

Light And A Little Sensitive

The tents is a great piece of backpacking gear for the weight. It does seem to require some extra care to take care of the materials but I would imagine that is expected with other UL tents. The design is interesting. There was a lot of flexing in the poles with some 25mph wind gusts. Kept me dry and out of the wind. Have only used it a couple times but for the weight savings the tents seems worth the price. If it had held up better in the wind I would have given a five star. I really like this tent.

Nice Little Tent.

I’m giving it four stars for a few reasons. 1 please include the footprint with the tent. 2 the tent steaks are not the greatest, yes they are light but if I’m on a boating trip I’m bring better ones. I have used this already on a backpacking trip and boating trips. It’s nice and light it’s just right for ONE person. I do wish the door open wider. After my last trip the rain fly is no longer white thanks to the wind, once again I don’t trust the steaks (maybe make them a little longer, if I didn’t use rocks on top of steaks that night my tent would not be here any more). It’s great for backpacking it packs down so small besides the poles.

You Won’t Regret It!

I’ve had this tent for several months now and absolutely love it. Especially for the price right now, it can’t be beat!!!

Get This Tent!

Great Tent! Some reviews discussed difficulty setting up I have used 4 times and think once you know what you are doing I can set up ~ 8 min. My fav features are the two doors on each side, the reflective features and space. This tent feels like a two person palace with the head space. I dont plan on sharing with a person but if I did there is ample room for two people in there. I had no issues with condensation the nights I used it. I have not been in a rainstorm yet so I cannot speak to that. I am not a fan of the tent stakes so I have switched to MSR ones. Packs up small and got on sale! I am happy!

Light, But Flimsy

The tent was very light and packed small, but the zipper on the rainfly broke the first night I used it. Mountain Hardware made things right with a free return, but I expected more from the tent. In their quest to shave weight, I think they made this a bit too flimsy. Also, I did not like how the interior zipper was in two parts, and required two hands to operate it—one to hold the base of the zipper and one to unzip it. You had to unzip the horizontal zipper, then the vertical zipper, then the rainfly. It was really a process to get in and out of this tent.

Tricky Set-up But Weathered The Storm

Not the easiest to pitch and stake but when done correctly, this is a great little UL tent. After correcting some lazy staking, mid-storm, the tent did not move in 20mph sustained winds and up to 40mph gusts. gave it 4 stars because of the tricky set-up and the size. It's a small 2-person and something I look forward to sharing with my husband's elbows. I guess he'll have to get his own!

A Nice Combination Of Light Weight And Roomy

Let's start by restating the obvious - light weight shelters require a little extra tweaking during setup. This one is no different, but with experience comes proficiency. One or two extra velcro fly attachments on the single pole would help keep ifmt in place in windy conditions. That said, I gave this a test on a windy, rainy South Florida day and experienced none of the complaints I'd read on other reviews. The Strato held up well in the wind and the inside stayed nice and dry after being subjected to an all day rain. I do like the design of attaching the inner to the pole, I wish the same was used at the head end instead of the loops. All in all I think this is an exceptional shelter at it's weight and price.

Just want I wanted and needed. Lightweight for the backpacking trips where weight is a concern. Stunning to use as single with loads of room and works great for two! Let the adventures begin!
