Please Go Back To Barefoot Feel
I owned the trail glove 3 and they lasted years of running, hiking and sports (tennis as well which is very hard on shoes). This new version has far too much arch (isn’t any arch too much on a minimalist shoe?), the redesigned tongue is inconvenient, and is no longer a bare foot shoe. Older versions really were like gloves. These are just like all the other shoes out there. Please remember why people loved these and go back!

They Ruined Them!
They took a great shoe and made them impossible to get on. Why Merrill, why? I owned multiple pairs of versions 3 and 4 of this shoe and they were truly trail gloves—foot slid right in and they took me all over the globe. Now I have to spend 5 minutes unlacing the shoe and then wrestling my foot in—not fun when you’re backpacking the Pacific Crest Trail and trying to get an early start. Do better Merrill.

Love Em
I still put arch support and heel pad inside (like I do with all my shoes) but I love these. I have worn the first pair out after 3 years. Just bought a second pair for hiking and running trails, and now a third for everyday wear.

Miss The Old Trail Gloves
I have had a pair of these and the latest leather trail gloves. In a nutshell, they both make me miss my earlier trail gloves. Both pairs of these feel clunky and flat. The earlier ones did not. They are the right size, it in some ways they feel too small, in other ways too big. I am not a fan of the new bottom for sure. I hate when a shoe company has a great shoe, then changes and discontinues it because it’s a new year. I don’t give a crap about what year it is, continue to carry what you used to make that was good.

Best Fit And Comfort
I have been using barefoot shoes for about 3 years now and love them. Every backpacking trip I take them. If you have not built up your legs and ankles to support barefoot shoes taking thees on a big trip will be difficult because you use more muscles. Once acclimated to barefoot shoes you will fall in love with them
