I have had this jacket for about three seasons and have only used it for snowboarding, which amounts to approximately 1.5 years of use and around 25 days on the mountain per season. The good news is that the jacket performs exceptionally well in wet and windy conditions; I was always kept dry, and it is truly impressive in that regard. However, the downside is its durability, coupled with Mammut's relatively short two-year warranty. I've noticed wear around the zippers, and holes have started to appear in the underarm vent zippers. If you plan to use this jacket weekly on the mountain snowboarding and more, I would not recommend it. I am now considering moving to a gear provider that offers a warranty longer than two years and backs their durability.

Great jacket. Have worn it mountaineering and it stops all wind while breathing perfectly. 10/10.

The quality of materials is top notch and the attention to detail on the build is great. Very well made jacket. Absolutely rock solid in the rainy/heavy wet snow of the inland northwest. The pocket placement took a little getting used to but if you’re standing around with your hands in your pockets, this is probably not the best jacket for you. The material is louder than expected but after a very wet winter and no leaks, I’m fine with a little crunchy.

Coat is very breathable and light. However, I wish it had a little more pockets and was quieter. It is very crinkly when moving, and did not seem to break in much over the course of the ski season. Overall still a great coat but could use a couple improvements!

This jacket has so far lived up to the hype. I've been able to take it hiking in New Zealand and around the PnW and its held up well to the rain, wind, and a little bushwacking. It feels very well constructed, and while I would've loved front pockets, the storage and design are well thought out. The pit zips are well designed and easy to use (maybe the easiest out of any i've tried), and offer good ventilation while moving. This jacked is overkill for daily city use, but if you're going up into the mountains or live in a rainy place its well worth the money. 5'11 185lbs in a Large fits very well with a few light layers underneath

Very breathable and comfortable. Fit is good and arm length is perfect. Great for backcountry tours and in-bounds storm days.

Amazing shell. Great for skiing both resort and backcountry. Wish there was lower pockets or an arm pocket for a ski pass but otherwise an amazing jacket.

This jacket is great, love the color, great performance. It is a tailored fit in the torso, so take that into consideration for sizing. That said, I was still able to wear a heavier mid layer underneath if needed without sizing up. I've worn this in some pretty wet snow and warmer weather, as well as cold/ windy days and still stayed dry and at a comfortable temp

Il est facile de voir que de la recherche à été fait pour créer ce manteau. Je l'utilise principalement pour le touring/randonné et il répond à mes besoins.
This shell shines as a outer layer in really crummy conditions. I don't use it every day, but when I do, I'm glad I have it on. The DWR seems to be very durable too, which is nice as that's usually the first thing to go. This probably wouldn't be my one and only shell jacket, but when I'm heading into the mountains and want piece of mind that I'll be fully protected, this bomber piece is a fantastic choice.
Great lightweight packable shell for the backcountry skiing.

Minimalist jacket for alpine pursuits such as backcountry skiing and winter climbing. Super water proof, ultra light weight, and very packable. Zippers function well and run smoothly.

Used thus far for XC and downhill skiing in temps from 20 to -20 F. Happy with quality of wrist closures, and well made waterproof zippers on the front and for the vents. Waterproof zipper a little stiff, but that just makes it feel more secure. Appreciate the two chest pockets, which remain accessible in a harness.

The Mammut Nordwand is not only functional and super high quality, it’s also beautifully made. I did however have to return it, no fault of Mammut. I’m a heavy guy and the fit wasn’t right for me. If they ever offer a 3XL, I’ll order it right now.

It's a decent jacket but the hood is enormous and unnecessarily big. The fabric is extra crinkly, maybe more so than other hard shells. The price point is decent. What's not easily seen online is that there are reflective strips on the jacket that are reminiscent of a cycle touring jacket. All in all I am sticking with Arcteryx despite wanting to like this jacket more than I did.
