Disappointed With This Version

This is my 3rd pair of Targhee boots but these do not seem to have the same level of arch support and cushioning as past versions of the same boot. They are supposed to be waterproof but only for very light rain or water exposure. Good ankle support and comfortable out of the box.

Quality & Style

Love both the high quality and look of this boot. I’d wear them for my hikes and daily chores. Sadly, I needed to return them; I found the fit to be much bigger than my usual Keen hikers. I like to size up by 1/2 to accommodate a thick sock, but I was swimming in this pair. I’ll order my usual size and keep my fingers crossed that they’ll be a good fit for me.

Love Them!

I love your shoes i don't buy any others well unless it's dress shoes or such.

The Best Targhee Ii Yet

I bought my first pair of Targhee II mid boots in 2012, and have bought at least 4 more pair over the years. These just fit my feet so well. When the Targhee III came out I tried them, but Keen had changed the last and they didn't agree with my feet. I was so thankful that Keen kept the II version. Although, color choices were no longer updated each year. When I saw the Leave no Trace collaboration color I had to have them. These are the most comfortable Targhee IIs I've had. The cushion and arch support are great for my feet as I don't need a high, hard arch. The boot collar is soft and molded to my ankle in short order. The tongue is padded, yet soft and pliable - not stiff and irritating. I'm seriously thinking about ordering another pair!

Best Boots

Amazing boot. Comfortable out of the box, wide toe area as described. I had my last Targhee II for 10 years, so no question I was replacing them with a new pair of the same. I have 3 other pair of Keen shoes for different purposes, all are comfortable and durable.

Love Them

They feel like my very old beat up pair Except newer, cleaner and a tad stiffer.

Comfort Right Out Of The Box

Well made shoe that makes walking in the snow and rain as enjoyable as it can be.

My Second Pair

I bought (in 2020) the same model that I purchased in 2016, since I like them so much. The only reason I had to purchase a second pair is that I wear down the outside heels and need to be careful of aggravating my Achilles. The leather and laces, etc. on my first pair are still in great shape. They are just wide enough to accommodate different sock thicknesses.

Only Hiking Boots I Will Ever Buy!

I bought these boots for my trip to Yellowstone and the many hikes we had planned. Per sizing recommendations, I went up a half size, and although it felt loose with regular tennis shoe socks, it fit nicely with some thicker (merino wool) socks. You can also lace them up tightly for a firm fit. I agree with other reviews that state you do not have to break these in. I did not wear these once before my trip, and I left after 5 days without a single blister and happy feet. I was extra appreciative after a long hike to one of the mountain peaks, where other people were bandaging their feet due to blisters from the hike, and mine were perfectly fine. They are also really comfortable. I have a slight tenancy to put my weight on the balls of my feet and big toes, so besides some mild (emphasis on mild) discomfort there, my feet were 100% a-okay after long hikes. I was especially grateful for the toe protection, because I definitely kicked and stumbled over one too many rocks, and they saved me from excruciating pain (I honestly didn't even feel it). The ankle support too was a blessing, as I almost rolled my ankle many times on the rocks, and was only saved by the support the boots provided. The treads on these allowed really firm traction, and made it a breeze to navigate the steep inclines and muddy trails. Also, these are definitely waterproof. Put them through the ringer with the streams and mud puddles on all the trails (courtesy of spring snow melts). However, I did not completely submerge my foot, and since the tongue isn't fully connected, I doubt it's waterproof at the laces. Only problem is when walking through small patches of snow, the tongue of the shoe would trap in bits of snow and get my socks wet. They did breathe well, while keeping my feet warm. I imagine they would work well for hikes here in Florida too. Summary: I cannot recommend these boots enough!! Easily the most satisfied I've been with any purchase.

Very Comfortable

I have worn them only in the house because I was actually deciding between these and a pair of Merrells so I can’t tell u how they hold up hiking as yet. They have a wider toe area which gives great comfort especially with the hiking socks. The entire shoe is comfortable yet supportive and lightweight as well. The Merrell has a little more arch support but the Keen doesn’t cram my toes at all. They are the winners. I gave 4 stars because I can’t yet judge they’re hiking comfort but I would definitely recommend them!
