This Tent Is Great

I am mainly outdoors in Japan. Among the tents I've used so far, I think it's the easiest to shoot and the strongest in bad weather. It is light in weight and easy to carry. It seems to be effective enough even in Japan's humid climate. I did good shopping. In addition, if there is an opportunity, I want to purchase it.

Dry!

Easy to set up, sturdy and well made, but best of all, dry. The double layers mean I never wake up to condensation or ice coating the inside of my tent. Nice!

Great Quality And Features, Typical Hilleberg.

This is my fourth Hilleberg and it does not disappoint. I still own and use the other three for specific outings. I bought the Staika primarily for canoe trips (freestanding a definite plus) and those times when my wife is with me (roominess and two entrance vestibules). If I'm going solo backpacking I'll opt for either the Nallo 2 or Soulo because the Staika is rather heavy (but still doable). I also find, because I'm getting older, the Staika is a little easier to get in and out of compared to my Nammatj 2. The Staika is expensive but if your perceived need and desire is to own one tent that will withstand any weather situation, barring tornadoes or hurricanes, this is worth the investment.

In Need Of An Up Date

Overall, a stout tent. A bit too heavy. Needs rain gutter over the doors like the Allak. At this price, it should absolutely come with the foot print

Completely Free Standing

I have used this tent twice so far in Alaska. In the fall, setting it up at night in a steady rain, and while snowshoeing with a snowstorm rolling in; heavy gusty winds each time. Tent went up easily, working around the dome raising the walls evenly, the inner tent stayed bone dry. Guyed out all the tie outs. Walls gusted with the wind, but the poles and tent were rock solid. Plenty of room for two with full winter gear. Integral vestibules are great feature to not worry about staking out or coming loose in the night, and had room for storage and to cook. While snowdrift did get into one vestibule, the inner door zippers allowed access to the gear without snow getting into inner tent. Ventilation worked well, but the top flap small hooks can be a bit of a challenge when cold. Yeah, you are toting a 4 season tent, but the weight is comparable to any other out there. When you are listening to the wind howl, it is good to know you have a strong tent. Only downside so far is drying out afterwards. You either have to set it up, or move around the inner and outer tent fabrics. Not as easy as a typical detached fly tent.

The Tent L Was Really Looking For

Even though l didn't think I'd be able to come up with an unexpected cost of 340dollar in the government tax. I paid, but I was really happy to get this tent We are planning to do a five-day backpacking from next Monday. This tent sounds like nothing to worry about it

Excellent Tent

I haven’t had this tent for very long and I’ve only slept in it about 8 times, but it’s been through rain and wind and I have no complaints so far. The rain fly keeps the interior dry and on windy days it’s solid. The ventilation is ample and everything about it is well thought out. I plan to use this for some winter camping and I have complete confidence in this tent.

Taj Mahal Of Tents

If camping in the Taj Mahal sounds appealing, then consider investing in a Hilleberg tent. With a tear-strength of 8x the average ripstop nylon tent, and innovations like zipper locks, linked inner and outer tent and footprint help distance the Staika from the competition. The tent is a breeze to erect, with the 1800 Kerlon nylon coated on both sides. This 4-season, 2-man shelter has stellar ventilation, is supremely durable and has a design an architect would covet. Check the Staika out, you will be hooked.

Stable And Streamlined

Super stable well made tent that will get you through heavy storms with just enough room for taller people. On the heavy side but that comes with this territory.

Money Well Spent

I don't buy tents often. My last one survived over 30 thousand miles of hitchhiking so anything less than expedition grade won't do. This Staika is built solidly, with top flight everything, from tent poles to zippers to instructions, and the thing can pitch quickly under adverse conditions. Particularly nice touches: Tent pole repair piece tucked away in bag; well machined tent pegs in ample quantity. I'll need to spend some quality time before weighing in on ventilation.

Best Tent

As expected, it is Hilberg's black label tent. This is probably the strongest personal tent. As we can put two cots, we are saved. The sand color also matches naturally.

Quality Construction And Design

I haven’t yet camped with the Staika but have set it up multiple times and am very impressed with how easy it is. I do a lot of camping in Wyoming’s Snowy Range where wind and rain can make camping miserable without a RV. One person can quickly set this tent up. The footprint, inner tent and fly can be pitched simultaneously so that even in bad weather, you can have a clean, dry tent interior. Design, materials and workmanship are first rate.

Excellent Tent

The tent is a Hilleberg, it is a very durable tent. The tent can be used in very harsh conditions. All four seasons. This tent is 1800 Kerlon. The tent also has a inner tent that can be used separately with the purchase of additional polls. Hilleberg was founded by Bo Hilleberg in 1971.
