The outer tent fabric is Kerlon 1200 and the poles are 9mm, which make for a super lightweight and stable tent
All season construction tent wall can be extended to ground and mesh area and backed with adjustable fabric panel
Dome construction with multiple poles help provide a good snow load handling capability
Dual entrance tent with single vestibule configuration allows for easy entrance and storage space
Add on the optional footprint that will cover the entire tent and vestibule and can be left attached to the tent even when pitching. Footprints add extra durability, protection from the elements, and longevity to your tent's life, so for sure think about adding it to your order.
Please note the footprint is not included. Please don't hate me.
The inner and outer tent is connected but still has the ability to be separated for simultaneous pitching
Comfortably fits two people and their gear without making it seem cramped
Designed using lighter weight zippers as well as inner tent and floor fabrics to keep the weight at a minimum
Designed for short and long trips in less harsh environments and conditions in all seasons like the forests in winter and summer
Great for withstanding heavy storms, but the lighter weight is not ideal on super harsh extended trips
Capable of withstanding heavy storm conditions, and the lighter weight is why some experienced hikers take this along instead of a more durable, heavier tent. It's all about the weight.
Outer tent goes all the way to the ground for awesome all weather protection

More Than 7 Pounds
The weight of 133g is wrong. Packed is about 7lbs 4 oz. Great tent, tough but heavy. I have nothing else to say, it is not ultralight but dependable and design for heavy use.

Excellent Quality
The material used is very interesting. It has a slick feel and is very fluid. Every detail of this tent screams quality. Setup is quick, and easy. A three season inner would be a necessity if you are going to get your money out of this tent.

Tank Of A Tent
I bought this tent (tank) for a winter Grand Canyon whitewater rafting and canyoneering trip. We got all the weather you can imagine: rain, 60mph winds, snow, 3 -12hr plus nights in the tent (always keep a urine bottle handy! - wont let me use the P word...). No sand incursions, no leaks, no damage. Trip veterans of up 14 previous trips said it was the worst weather they have ever encountered on a Grand Canyon trip. Highly recommend for winter/desert camping. Easy up/ breakdown as we were moving camps regularly over a 30 day period. High end on the cost, but worth it.

Yes
This is my first hille. I chose this for a secure tent camping in snow or very windy camping in spots that don’t steak well because I don’t want to lose sleep over worrying about guy lines. Coming from an ultralight background, I am stoked about this tent. The double door is great. The only thing I noted was that the vestibules are not easy to crawl into in rain. It’s not a lot of space to take the wet shell off underneath it. Building a shelter with another tarp over it solves that though.

Hilleberg Allak 2 Person Tent - Perfect Tent
My 2nd Hilleberg tent. The other in the Anjan 2. Setup is a breeze & love that is is a freestanding tent for camping in areas where staking out a tent is difficult. Ordered the mesh inner tent to make this tent even more versatile.

The Best Tent
The best tent to buy while backpacking It has a pleasant interior and spacious space, has less condensation and easy tent installation. It's the best tent for four seasons.

First Hilleberg
Take it for what it’s worth...I’ve set it up and taken it down half dozen times, and packed it around the hills a couple times, but my new Allak hasn’t spent one night on the trail yet. Blame the rainy spring. Here’s my take so far: The quality of construction is first rate, better than my previous Big A and North Face. It is easy to set, easier than my ex’s. It is on the heavy side. I am 6’3” and allergic to tight tents, but the Allak is a palace for one and I’m sure it will be fine for doubles. All in all, I expect to enjoy it for years as long as it’s sitting on the deck and not in my bag, and it should be tolerable even then. One more life’s lesson in getting what you pay for.

5 Months Later
As wrote earlier, I used this tent on the Current River . This past weekend I was able to use in 27 degree weather. The zipper pulls and poles were easy enough to work with wearing gloves. Last weekend, I we had a torrential downpour all night long. The temperature dropped. No leaks. I don't know why MEH had problems. My son had a tent from another company - single wall - and had condensation issues. The Allak was bone dry and warm inside with two people. At 7 pounds, I would take this tent backpacking only if adverse weather was in the forecast. My old three season tent with mesh is about to die. I might just have to break down and try the Hilleberg Rogen tent. I am very impressed with their attention to details on their tents.

Meh
Have several Hillebergs. No problem Used Allak on Pacific side of Vancouver Island. Spent 2 days in gale conditions with heavy rain on not overly protected beach. After several hours of pounding, started taking on water. This was a brand new tent. Seam sealed with Silnet. Of course other people in the group had same issue but non had Hillebergs. Very surprised, after glamourus reviews. I think people overestimate what these tents can withstand. My other Hillebergs are Staika, Namatj, Janu, Tara and Soulo. All excellent in snow but never had them in those conditions of heavy rain and strong wind combination. Cannot comment on performance.

And The Winner Is.....
I have spent weeks researching which tent will be the best tent for my one month rafting trip down the Grand Canyon this winter. The tent is just for me, but I wanted a two person tent, because there will be lay over days, and because I am rafting I do not have to worry about the extra weight. After researching every brand i came across, I chose the pricy Hilleberg Allak 2 because of the following reasons: 1) all reviews pointed to the quality of craftsmanship. This was an investment I could count on keeping me warm in the winter, yet has great access and ventilation for those warmer nights. 2) Easy to put up. When I find myself in a winter storm, or downpour, I do not have to worry about the inner tent getting wet because the inner tent is attached to the outer -- making putting it up easy and keeping me and my stuff dry. 3) I love having the two vestibules for the times I will share the tent. 4) I love having the two doors for ventilation and view. Can't wait to break it in down in the canyon this winter!
