Love These Trousers!

I wore these hiking in Zion and they were warm, comfortable, and durable for any rocks and twig scrapes.

Great Pants That Take Abuse

I’m hard on gear, especially clothing when in the mountains. After loving my first pair of Kebs, I bought a second and they’re quickly replacing most of my softshell-style mountain pants. The side zips are great for venting the legs on sunny days on the glacier. I’ve worn these through dumping snow and miserable rain and have never had an issue so long as you keep up with the water-proofing recommendations. The design is well though out with stretchy material for comfortable movement in spots and reinforced material where necessary for durability.

Pants That Can Handle Any Situation

I got these pants in the spring for field work (I work in environment). I ended up wearing them all summer and was impressed how well they handled bushwacking in thick forest and shrubs without getting shredded. The big pockets are very useful to keep your things within reach at all time. In the fall I went for a 5-day backpacking trip and I was absolutely impressed by their versatility. We had some hot days, and the vents allowed me to stay comfortable. We had a night of pouring rain and the next day everybody got their pants soaked by the wet vegetation. The G-1000 fabric was just water repellant enough to keep me dry. Finally we went over a snowy mountain pass, and the hooks allowed me to tie the pants to my laces and keep the snow from getting into my boots. Overall the only thing these pants couldn't handle was the darn chipmunk that chewed a hole through the pocket one night to get at the couple peanuts that were left in there!

Best Pants For Hiking And Exploring

I purchased 2 KEB trousers with the short leg size, and they were immediately my favorite hiking pants ever. They fit perfectly and comfortably (thanks to the strategically placed stretch panels) while hiking, climbing over boulders, and squatting to examine and photograph things. I purchased them right before a 2 week trip. Even though I had enough clothing for a week of no repeats I ended up using these 2 pairs of pants almost every day. The construction is top notch, the materials seem durable, and best of all they have fantastic POCKETS. In fact, the main reason I purchased these pants were because of the pockets (I actually did a search for "Women's hiking cargo hiking pants." they have 2 hand pockets with the stretchier fabric, and 2 big thigh pockets in the G-1000 fabric. Both of the 2 big pockets have a flap covering with easy snaps. 1 of them has a zipper, and that's wher I keep my keys, credit cards, and driver's license. The other one has an inner mesh pocket, and that's where I put my phone. It's a great solution to prevent your phone from falling out even if the outer flap is not snapped shut. This comes in handy when I'm making a lot of photographs, because I can keep the upper flap unsnapped and then quickly place my phone in and out of the inner mesh pocket. One other super useful feature is the hook at the bottom of the pant leg for attaching the pant legs to your hiking boot laces. It eliminates the need to wear separate gaiters to keep pebbles and other debris from going inside of your boots. I think I'm going to end up with these pants in every color, and then that will end up being my entire hiking/travel pants wardrobe. Oh, and I just discovered the gaiter version of these pants with zip-off leg bottoms to turn them into shorts, so I will get those for hot weather.

Great But Runs Small In The Waist Compared To Vidda Pro

I ordered two Kebs in my normal Fjallraven size (Women's short-inseam 36 (waist 27"-28") regular fit). They are great - plenty of stretch for scrambling, with protection where it counts at knees and seat, and they look good too. But be forewarned - they seem to run smaller than other Fjallravens. The waist is nearly 2" smaller around than my Vidda Pro trousers in the same size (I compared it to several). I don't like "snug" trousers, so will return and try a size up..
