Wonderful Parka

So my girlfriend bought me the Singhi Parka this holiday season because I was always cold while walking my dogs. I have several really good shells and I always wore layers previously but found myself getting cold the longer I walked. The Singhi parka kept me very warm this past winter with just a tshirt underneath. Highly recommend this parka!

Parka

I tried to get the Yupik Parka from another vendor, but apparently, they had some issues. So I ended up calling the San Francisco store and talking to a rep there. Turned out you don't have the Yupik anymore, but the Nuuk was the next choice. So I ordered it. It was shipped fast and I checked it out; Seems very warm and it fit well. I gave away a lot of my older gear to someone that needed it more than me, but with this winter, even in Sparks, NV, it's been cold. BRRRRR. Anyway, the parka did the trick and keeps me warm. Love it.

Fjallraven Makes Thee Best Parkas

What I love most about Fjallraven is the close attention to detail and the purposeful design of everything, not least of which its parkas. For the longest time, I wanted the Yupik, the Nuuk's predecessor. I didn't go for it given the price at the time but picked this one up this year, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. This parka has everything you'd want in a hardwearing, extremely cold weather parka — coming from somebody in Minnesota. It's been a workhorse for me so far, with its robust outer material, the generous hood and pockets, and all else. What's more, I like that it's fairly customizable to the wearer and allows for layers. It's one of the reasons I went for this parka over the Singi, which I'd absolutely love, but figured this would be the most versatile jacket I could buy without sacrificing function, look and warmth. Well done to the designers who made this parka.

Best Jacket I've Ever Owned

I was deciding between the Nuuk and the Sinji jacket, and the waterproof factor made me choose Nuuk. I'm glad I did because it has been perfect for the weather in the PNW. temps in the 20's, and lots of rain (and a bit of snow) are no problem in this coat. I also wanted a "grab and go" jacket for when I didn't want to do a lot of layers. I can wear just a t-shirt under this jacket and I'm completely warm and dry. Minor complaint is that the zipper is a bit tricky/finicky to get started. Overall, a great jacket with a ton of great features and big pockets everywhere, while still maintaining a good fit. I sized down one size as I wanted a more close fit.
