If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to negotiate with a tiny, irrational CEO while standing ankle-deep in a muddy creek, allow me to introduce children’s water shoes. At first glance, these miniature aquatic footwear marvels appear to be the perfect solution to sharp rocks, slippery docks, and mysterious objects lurking at the bottom of every lake. They promise comfort, protection, and traction. What they actually deliver is a fascinating social experiment in patience. The shoes themselves are surprisingly durable. They withstand sand, saltwater, mud, and repeated attempts by children to use them as buckets, boats, or projectile weapons. The soles grip wet surfaces admirably, reducing the likelihood that your child will perform an unsolicited interpretive dance across a slippery pool deck. The fit, however, is an ongoing mystery. Despite measuring your child’s feet approximately seventeen times, the shoes will somehow be either impossibly tight or large enough to accommodate a small raccoon. There is no middle ground. Putting them on is where the real entertainment begins. A process advertised as “easy slip-on design” somehow requires the cooperation of a child who has suddenly forgotten how feet work. Once successfully installed, the shoes will remain on for roughly seven minutes before your child announces that a pebble the size of a grain of pepper has completely ruined their day. Performance in the water is excellent. Performance outside the water is equally excellent, as children will refuse to remove them for the remainder of the summer and possibly into the next school year. Overall Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5 Stars) Excellent protection, impressive durability, and a valuable reminder that no piece of children’s equipment can fully overcome the determination of a five-year-old. Recommended for families who enjoy outdoor adventures and possess at least a moderate sense of humor. Pros: * Protects tiny feet from sharp rocks and questionable pond contents * Good traction on wet surfaces * Survives treatment that would destroy most consumer products Cons: * Pebble detection system is alarmingly sensitive * Sizing exists in a realm beyond conventional mathematics * Does not prevent children from stepping directly into the deepest puddle available Final Verdict: A worthwhile investment if your goal is keeping your child’s feet safe. Less effective if your goal is avoiding complaints.

Bought these water shoes for our son and they worked well. He said they were comfortable. The only thing was it didn't stay on while in the lake as it was a little loose in the ankle area. It was his size but when it got wet it became a little loose. Still worth it.
