My First Trekking Pole Experience And Loved It!

hiking the uphill of the Scenic Trail head to the 9 Bell Trail to reach Archers Fork Trail loop is a big big big one for a beginner hiker like myself. With my backpack weighing 33 lbs total with food and water is a big deal. I was vlogging our adventure and the trekking pole only get a little hit of fame since its not being seen very well on my side of the camera... but my husband has it working everytime. We both have the same Trekking poles but in different color. Lightweight and very sturdy. We used it in a few more hiking trips in Yellowstone National Park, more of Wayne National Forest and the Grand Teton area. We want to rack up more miles on this baby and take it to the Appalachian Trail in 2021. Thanks for the good product.

We Now Own 3 Pairs

Excellent poles for the price. Lightweight, comfortable cork grips, look good and do their job. They withstand the rugged terrain in NH’s White Mountains.

Comfortable And Functional

I’m really happy with these poles. I’ve only used them once so far, but borrowed a similar pair from a friend for a difficult hike before purchasing, so I knew what to expect. The cork is very comfortable. A friend on the same hike had Colombia poles, and got a blister on her hand from the plastic that was part of the cork handle. So I like that these Cascade poles are all cork on the handles. I also prefer cork because foam handles from other poles I’ve used turn my hands black. The hike was a semi-difficult trail 9.4 miles out and back 3,000 ft elevation gain. I was grateful I had them!

Good Poles For The Price!

I've been hearing about Cascade Mountain Tech trekking poles for awhile now and finally decided to try them out. They are great for such inexpensive poles: cork grips and quick locks (both non-negotiables for me), lightweight, and they come with a good selection of tips and baskets plus a great storage bag. On the downside the locks have wiggly alignment and the poles vibrate (rather loudly) when in use. (Full review at youtu.be/MMuTEd8sJTQ.) Overall, worth the money.

Awesome Deal - Great Performance

I have been hiking and camping most of my life but never used Trekking Poles. About two years ago my wife started hiking with me and as the distance and terrain grew she decided she wanted to try poles this summer. I researched and watched videos and a number of expert hikers recommended these poles. I am an avid REI customer but they did not offer this brand so I opted for Amazon and bought us both as set. We have put around 80 miles on them including 7-days in Sedona. Out favorite hike was 8+ miles on Hiline Trail offering excellent hiking variations and views of Bell Rock, Courthouse and Cathedral Rock. The terrain for the week went from moderate say level 2 to some stretches of level 7+. We did not notice any vibration or noise as mention in another review on this site nor any shoulder pain. There was a slight noise from the Tungsten carbide tip when hiking a rock and boulder covered creek bed and canyon. But that seemed normal and it wasn't a distraction. We are both newbies to poles and the longest distance in a single day was 10 miles. We are both now sold on poles and will include them on all trips. I'll post again as the mileage grows and see if my opinion changes, but for now I would recommend these poles. And especially if you are new to poles and the price point matters. PS Easily packed in our single checked bags for air travel and strapped nicely to our Osprey Daylite packs.
