We purchased this for our New England adventure. Let me tell you it was a game changer. In New York in 32 degree weather we were cozy. In New Hampshire in the flood we were dry warm and out of the wind. We camped New England for 10 days and were cozy each night and it rained and was flooding for three nights. Easy set up even at night. Buy Big Agnes. They know what they are doing. And as a bonus go with the vestibule it was a game changer for sure.
Bought the big house 6 and vestibule for three people and two dogs(black lab and pointer) this tent has always been more than enough room for us and has been through a lot of rain. We have always been dry and comfortable.
great view of the stars and incredibly weather proof.
We used this tent camping at the lake with the captain comfort double pad and the double sleeping bag, and it is fantastic. You can see the stars without the mesh and easily pull back the rain fly, and leave attached. There's so much space! We love the addition of the vestibule and just ordered another one for the other side! We didn't realize both sides have the potential for adding vestibule, which adds such nice space, it's like two extra rooms!

I love how it gives you the stand up room and I like how the door opens and closes vs the other ones. What I don't like is the fact that you took away the side pockets which I used all the time. I will have to find something to use as a "pocket".

I used the previous year's version (2024) last fall at 9500' in the Uintah range. It set up fast and easily as my backpack tents. The footprint size worked well in small areas and steep wall design kept me upright while inside.
We bought this tent and its vestibule for a family camping trip in Scotland, hoping to count on the quality of the brand. While the tent is indeed spacious and easy to set up, we were keenly disappointed when during strong wind the tent nearly collapsed on us and our kids. Doubling the main guy lines did not help and the poles ended up significantly bent. This has to do with the frame design which just does not offer resistance to wind force in spite of the sturdy poles. Experience in wet weather was also not great due to the fly design exposing the tent inner sides. In our view, this tent is only fit for mild dry conditions, in which case it would likely perform well with good ventilation and setup versatility. We remain sadly disappointed with our first experience with Big Agnes.
I love this tent. Very easy to put together/break down and very spacious.
Loving this tent so far! We used this during a recent 5 day camping trip. The design is great, setup is easy, and we left the rain fly off so we could see the stars. We love that we are able to stand up easily inside (5'6" and 6'1") which makes those middle of the night bathroom breaks much easier. Our bed hog of a dog had plenty of room to spread out in this tent, so we were all able to sleep well without feeling cramped! Can't wait to take this tent out on more adventures.
I was impressed by the quality and thought that went into 90% of the tent. Colored poles, clips and corners make it super easy to set up. The garage that you can use or not use was an upgrade from my north face wawona that was completely integrated into the fly. It did fine in storms and days of rain. Great tent except the door. I never expected a 2 zipper door to be on a tent of this caliber and price so I didn't think to check. If you are new to camping the 2 zipper is a pain for a few reasons but the worst is having to make sure both zippers are toughing. If you don't bugs easily get in as that intersection is right at the ground. Good luck getting kids or anyone not super anal about this to do it in the middle of the night after going out to the bathroom. My marmots, northface and even my eureka have the now standard continuous zipper. This is a major pain that shouldn't have been and every time I go in and out it bugs me. I purchased this tent 2 years ago, i have a trip coming up I'll be using it on and my first thought was that freaking mis on the door. Out of curiosity I wondered if they changed it by now, they haven't. Same design I am shocked they haven't fixed it by now.

Had bent poles from being in heavy winds- tornado watches. Big Agnes repaired them perfectly.

This Tent is huge! I put a queen size mattress (80x60) in it and still had enough room to walk around it while standing (I'm 5'8" and had 2 feet on the right and 2 feet on the bottom around the mattress to walk around). If you are looking for a true 6-person tent this, is it. The zippers are really high quality just need to go slow getting in an out as they can snag on the material just like any other tent. The rain fly and tent material is really nice waterproofing, feels like 15K. Be aware that Big Agnes currently does not sell extra tent poles to put up the shelter and the tent at the same time. Also, make sure to buy the Footprint (its not included), it adds longevity to the bottom of the tent and is necessary for the shelter to set up by itself.

Since I purchased the tent, I've been out twice on long weekends with it. With my wife & I, It's a palace. Due to our age, We have 2 cots with air mattresses & still plenty of room. However, the main front door is an issue. I wish it was a one half circle zipper type instead of a 2 separate zipper door. Its such a hassle to unzip 2 zippers. However, With that issue, My wife refuses to bring it back for a different tent. We love the simple set up & the take down. We also love the backpack storage bag!
It is simple, roomy, and bombproof. The BH6 has been a great piece of equipment for basecamp. We have had so many fun adventures and rain or shine this thing is awesome.

Family camping tent that is big enough for four of us, the dog and the gear.
