Fabric Durability Is Poor

Wish the quality was better. This duffle was exactly what we needed in terms of space and ease of use, but the fabric on the duffle has nickel sized holes after just one international flight. AWAY seems to be discontinuing this bag - maybe that is why?

More Cons Than Pros

I have many Away products, and have been pleased with most. Unfortunately, the reviews citing damage after first use, and wishing it had four wheels due to tipping issues, are reasons for my dissatisfaction as well. I appreciate the weight, size and ability to collapse for storage purposes. However, I do miss a true compression system. The basic cross strap is not nearly as effective as the full board style Also, while smaller bags can be attached via trolley sleeves, due to the soft shifting nature of the top, they are more precarious. As regards damage, there are multiple pin size holes, a very small tear, and small white patches. This, after just one flight. I do have concerns that with repeated use a large tear could appear at a crucial moment..

Folding Option Worked Great

Have several Away luggage but needed one that folds down for cataraman vacation. This worked perfectly. Was sizeable for a long trip. And had no issues with it tipping over. Well made as expected from Away.

Good bag. Suggestions for improvement: contrasting color for the internal tie-down strap (so it is easy to locate after packing) and a better system for the base (instead of two wires, perhaps removable molded plastic)

It's The Perfect Bag!!

We've been looking to replace 2 rolling duffels for two years and finally found the best ones ever!! I'm not sure if he's never actually went into production or what happened, but I regularly study the site and never saw them until they were on clearance. It appears they didn't actually go into production, but I could certainly be wrong. They're spacious, sturdy, have solid Away rolling wheels, under an absolutely fantastic size. LOVE THEM!!

Excellent Duffel, But Was Heavily Marred On First Trip

I purchased the bag to take a three week dive boat/snorkel/beach trip with family to Palau and Raja Ampat in Indonesia. The bag holds an amazing amount to clothes, shoes, toiletries and gear. The only issue is that the back of the bag was heavily marred and now has multiple white abrasions.

Smaller Than You Think

This bag is pretty small and not built for a family. You are much better off getting the medium checked back. I appreciate what Away built a duffle, but it's just not as roomy as you'd expect.

It's Like Away Forgot To Finish The Product

Unfortunately I am sending it back. The fully exposed handle poles and exterior hard plastic shell on the inside of the bag makes it a poor choice for packing delicate items.

Light Travel Duffel Bag But The Side Handles Are Not Great

Good light travel bag but the side handles are not big enough or sturdy enough to make lifting the bag easy. Was not easy to lift on & off train steps. But rolling the bag was good.

I am a real fan of Away luggage and have quite a few pieces. However, I think the design of this bag is too big for the unstructured sides. It seems to be quite difficult to steer and I believe it would be more maneuverable if it was 75-80% of its actual size. It's just a bit unwieldy.

Incredible Duffel!

At first seems very basic. Put the metal hinges together at the bottom of the duffel in the velcro. That will keep it from tipping over. Love this bag with secret pockets and gets better with every use!

Great Product, But High Price Point...

Full disclosure... I received this product for free in exchange for this review. ... I like that the duffle has a hard lower shell and a soft upper which allows it to be packed flat to save space when not being used. I like that it has metal support rods that hold the top up. It makes it very easy to pack and helps prevent your belongs from being smashed too bad if bags are stacked on top of it. The wheels and handle make it very easy to carry and move around while the bag is packed. It actually holds alot more than it looks like it would. I was really surprised how much I could fit in it. I like that it has some separate compartments/pouches, but I wish there were more or larger ones. The hard lower shell , handle, and wheels seem very durable and well made however the soft upper I'm not as sure about. It is a very thin material that I'm concerned may not hold up to moderate use over time. Also after doing some research, I found the price point very high. It is much more expensive that the usual luggage I would buy. That being said , overall I really like the duffle and will continue to use it, I just don't think I would buy another in the future unless the price point came down. Overall a good product!

The Outdoor Rolling Duffle 85l In Jet Black

I already own and love an Away carry-on suitcase; it is my go-to bag for weekend trips. But for longer stays, I tend to prefer a soft-sided suitcase so I can have the option to pack a bit more and expand the suitcase. So, I was thrilled to see this new design from Away and even more thrilled to receive one as a sample. I used it on a recent trip and it is really the best of all worlds; the durability and stability of a hard-shell case with the flexibility to pack lightly and keep the duffel in its slim profile OR truly expand it and max it out (it can fit a lot, much more than I'd need for a weeklong stay). Plus, tons of convenient outer pockets which I love for last-minute items, gifts, or things I'd like to keep close at hand. It's also surprisingly lightweight, and I love that it can zip down almost completely flat for storage at home AND especially for putting away/out of sight in a small hotel room. Love this bag and will use it for years to come.
