Comfortable But Clasp Is Flawed

I tried these on at REI and purchased them on the spot because they felt so comfortable. However after wearing them the first day on a float trip, I found that the clasp (that holds the heel strap on) is deforming. I reached out to customer service but haven't had a response in days. I guess I'll be returning them :-/

Heel Clips Keep Bending Open

I’ve been using these for less than one full season. I really like these and they are comfortable, however the metal clip for the heel straps are constantly bending. I wear them on the first loop and they aren’t a challenge to clip on, so I don’t understand why they keep bending. They bend wide open, and then I have to bend them back. They metal is becoming weakened and they’re likely going to snap off and I won’t be able to use the sandals anymore. Disappointed because otherwise these are nice.

Love these shoes. Worn Chaco’s for 20 years, and still wear them, but these shoes are just different. They look different, the size of the buckles may be a little over kill, but they are just so comfortable and seem to be holding up after a year of my daily wear. The attention to detail is also much appreciated.
