New Favorite Hiking Shirt When Its Really Sunny!

Took this on a big trip hiking in Europe. Pulled it out of the box and was worried it was way too thin. But wow was it great. I hiked in 60-85 degree pure sun in the Alps and wore it over any of my other t shirts due to the sun coverage. I was in the black and it was not hot at all. For sure buying more of these as they come out in more colors. Didn't stink either with the anti-odor treatment. Nor was it too thin that my backpack straps abraded my shoulders. Like the monkey paw back of hand covers too.

Best Shirt, Need More Colours

amazing light weight, breathable and stretchy. one of the best year around shirt.....PLZ make a gray. Also, very important to note, it run ver large so size down. Im 5'8.5 150 and usually wear a medium, i end up exchanging for a small and fits perfectly.

Breathable Sun Layer For Hot-weather Hiking

Fit: I'm 6'0", ~170 lb, and wore a Medium. It fit a touch loose on me, but I found that ideal — I was after airflow and moisture management in serious heat, and the relaxed cut delivered exactly that. I wore this hoody nearly every day for 20 days traveling through Italy, France, and Spain. Conditions were demanding for a sun layer: 29–34°C, bright sunshine from morning to evening, and a lot of hiking and sightseeing. My main goal was to limit sun exposure on long days outdoors, and on that count it performed beautifully. A few things stood out: Breathability: Outstanding. Even in the low-to-mid 30s°C with the sun overhead, it never felt stifling. The fabric breathes well enough that I was comfortable on extended hikes. Moisture-wicking: Excellent — easily one of its strongest traits. It moved sweat off my skin and kept me feeling dry through long, hot days. Sun coverage: I wore the hood over a baseball cap, and the combination provided solid protection for my head and neck. I'd note that I still used a light amount of sunscreen and wouldn't lean on this as your primary UV protection — but as a layer to cut down on direct sun exposure, it did its job well. I bought the off-white color specifically for maximum reflectivity in the heat, and I'm glad I did. I can't speak to long-term durability — I wasn't dragging it against rocks or putting it through any abrasion — but after 20 days of heavy use it's still in excellent condition. (Purchased from an Arc'teryx store.) For hot-weather hiking, travel, and all-day sightseeing in strong sun, this hoody served its purpose extremely well. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about it.

Don’t Buy It

Probably the worst purchase I’ve ever made. Shirt is too light and arrived with a snagged knit. Obviously unfixable. I also got the cream color, and in many lights it’s almost pink. Probably the last Arcteryx purchase I make. Super unhappy- the old model wasn’t bad.

Great Hoody For Summer Runs/hikes

The Cormac Hoody is part of my go to running and walking/hiking gear in temps ranging from uber humid 95 degree days in the D.C. area to more moderate/warm mountain, beach and pool days. Super light and comfortable and especially great under the unrelenting sun and heat. After purchasing/wearing my first, I ordered four additional ones in short order -- and while I'm traditionally a large in all Arc'teryx products, these run a little big, so I wear it in medium and it is still very comfortable and not tight (I'm 6'2"-6'3", 195 lbs). For a tall, athletic build, the medium is a perfect length and has perfect sleeve length when wearing hoody and/or using thumbholes. Big fan.

Size Has Gotten Too Big

I own a dozen Arc’teryx cormac t-shirts and hoodies in men’s size medium. It’s basically the only shirt I wear in the summer and warmer fall temps. Unfortunately; they’ve changed the sizing, and the Cormac hoody and T-shirts fit much larger now. The sleeves are way too long on the hoody, at least 2 inches longer on this new version. Preferred the old internal thumb loops versus the new ones, maybe this is why you lengthened the sleeves? Wish you’d pick some better colorways, also. I do like the black or last seasons black sapphire which you no longer offer. Three stars for the lighter fabric, otherwise, I can’t wear this new version hoody. The tshirt is wearable, but the color options leave much to be desired.

Disappointing Revision

Unfortunately, I have to echo what others have said about this “revised” version. The sizing runs large. I’m 5'11", 168 lbs, and wore a medium in the previous version, but the new medium feels at least one size too big. The material is also much thinner than before - too thin, in my opinion. Looking forward to the revised retro version when you bring back the OG!

Amazing Performance Hoodie

Bought this on a whim, and was amazed by the quality and performance, whether it’s out for a run or just a gym workout it was lightweight enough for either was also protective in wet weather! Great value for the money, and stylish too!

Light Hoddy

Super comfortable - slightly lighter and a different material than the first verison I have but still great. Great as an only layer or over a base layer when it is cold.

Don't Purchase Unless The Goal Is To Look Cute.

I feel like this shirt was made for short, fat people. I'm 6 ft, 185 lbs with a 30 in waste. Large fits my shoulders but its a belly button shower and looks like a sundress around my waste. Great material but the fit is terrible for an endurance athlete. it doesn't keep we warm in Washington spring/fall and is too hot to be a sun shirt. I would never recond this shirt to anyone that is trying to stay warm-ish in swing seasons.

Good All-rounder

The hoody looks great. The most breathable hoody I own. Durability could be a bit better, one of the seams has become a bit loose, however it's not bad. It's great for everyday and hiking. Wicks moisture very well. Overall it's a good all-rounder for hot days.

Good.

Great texture and material. Light and breathable. The tag is on a separate piece of fabric, making it easy to cut off. Fits well.

Great Fit

Great fit and color, I have several of similar Cormac Hoody products

My Husband Is Addicted!

My husband has three of these he loves all of them. He wears them in cold weather. He wears them on the boat in warm weather super comfortable, true to size, versatile! Great quality great colors.

Please Make "Tall" Sizes

Perfect shirt! But please please make them in "tall" sizes. When I climb the shirts are never long enough and pop out of my harness when I raise my arms above my head.
