The sleeves are a little too long for me, but aside from that, everything is perfect.

The best jacket ever. Worth the purchase. It is Breathability, Durability, Ergonomics, Layering, and Waterproofing

Superb build and premium fabric, though the fit is surprisingly massive. Even with my 51" shoulders, it feels oversized. I’ve had to rely on tightening the hood, hem, and cuff adjusters to manage the extra volume. Great quality, but runs very large!

Within the first week, the fabric of the sleeve cuff adjustment velcro straps on both wrists peeled away. I don’t think this jacket will be very durable considering it’s coming apart from only a couple of wears.

I’m a 45-year-old male, 77 kg, 5’8” tall. I wouldn’t describe myself as lean. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the option to visit a store and try the jacket, as there is no Arc’teryx store or authorised dealer in my country. I purchased this jacket online from a U.S. store, so sizing research was critical for me. After a lot of research, I went with size M, and it fits me very well. The jacket has ample room for a base layer and a proper mid-layer without feeling tight or restrictive. The fit feels well-balanced and functional. I’m not commenting on jacket quality or performance, as that has already been covered extensively by many reviewers, and this is a very popular jacket anyway. My intention with this review is purely to help others pick the right size, especially those buying online without the chance to try it on. For anyone buying this jacket primarily for streetwear or a more relaxed fit, going one size up may be a better choice. Hope this helps someone make a confident sizing decision.

I like Arcteryx, and Cerium SV Hoody down jacket s the best down jacket I ever had. Also Arcteryx parka.. But sizes is really somethimes big issue , especially of shell jacket , is the more complicated...They are meant to be worn on top of down jacket and if you try to have directly on your hoodie than it can looked that they are little oversize. I'am 180cm and size M looks like its little bit bigger...but not.. The quality is top top.. waterproofing one of the best..

Great piece! Unfortunately they eliminated the pit zips that my earlier version of this had

I rushed and bought this before Beta SL was out because I needed one. But this is a very odd jacket. - Hood is smaller. Neck is tighter as well. It's hard to put layers underneath. Rho + delta + atom LT then this Beta is hard to fully close because neck is choking. - No pit zip. Saving weight they say but everyone knows goretex don't breathe well when moving. - Higher pockets. I guess the idea was to cut weight and make it more technical. But without pit zip, it's more for city than mountain imo. I used it in the NYC standing in the line, in the raining for 1 hour. Waterproofing was good. If only hood was smaller and pocket is lower, it could be good city rain jacket. Or add pit zip and more room around neck, it would be good hiking hardshell. This is somewhere in the middle.

S size was incredibly large and tailored for a very tall person. The sleeves were way too long and overall it just didn’t look good on me at all, so I had to return it.

I really wanted to like this jacket especially after paying good money, but unfortunately after a year (only wore a few times) the zipper broke completely off . The zipper in my opinion is flimsy

Solid hard-shell that's great for heavy rain and snow! I have taken it with me on numerous backpacking trips where I've been caught in heavy downpours and decent snowfall. It's also held up great whilst caught in hurricane-like rain/wind during a trip to Mexico. Super durable, and I enjoy the versatility of it. Very comparable to the Patagonia Torrentshell. (Dare I say better, because of how much lighter it is.) Personally, I got this one over the other betas because I preferred the 80D Nylon over the SL's 70 and fit — and the AR's drophood was a bit too big and was always getting in the way of my face when I tried them on in-store. (Also, couldn't justify spending 650... yikes!) No pit-zips, but still felt "breathable," to me, as well as light — compared to other shells from Patagonia, REI, MH, Outdoor Research, Rab, Black Diamond, etc that I've tried on. Coming from someone who runs pretty hot most of the time. Though I firmly believe you can get away with a LOT more than what this jacket is made/advertised as, and don't let the online hypebeasts and gearheads fool you into thinking this jacket is only made for city/urban/commuting use. Going to be trying Mt. Shasta next year with this shell on (mainly because I don't want to shell out for an Alpha or AR). Only giving this shell 4 stars instead of a 5, mainly because I will say though — that a con for this particular beta is the overall lack of features for the price point. I rarely ever used pit-zips on older shells I've had in the past (hence why I got this version) — but I never fully understood what the design-thinking was on why this Beta didn't have any — unlike the SL and AR counterparts in the lineup. Seems like it would've made the most sense to at least include them to maintain consistency across the other two models, since it's advertised as a "versatile" shell, and I know for many folks it's an integral feature. It also does not have a helmet-compatible hood, although the times I've gone skiing in this shell, it was easily bypassed by simply not wearing the hood over the helmet and/or having a midlayer that was able to accommodate the helmet. Though it wouldn't have hurt to at least have this beta have that! The two cons that I mainly had weren't necessarily dealbreakers for me — but can be for others, in that case I would say the SL is also a great runner-up as well!

The Beta Jacket is a great blend of minimalism with serious protection, sent 5 straight days in the rain of Alaska and it proved to be very waterproof, windproof, and lightweight. Comfort/Fit is spot on.
