I've been using Altras for 6 years and these are my favorites to use for variable terrain. I run on roads and trails. I like the lower cushion and the flexibility of the shoe, while still having enough cushion to decrease impact.

I LOVE the Escalante shoe. I wish the tongue wasn't so thick. The 2 was perfect. The 3 is a bit narrower & with the tongue thickness it feels tighter. Please consider changing back for future models.

I wanted so badly to love these- especially with the toe box being the anatomically correct shape. However, I have a wide foot and my mid sole/top of foot did not have enough room. Loosening the laces helped a bit, but then I barely had enough lace to tie the shoe! I think this would be a great brand for someone who wants a natural toe box and has an "average" width shoe, but I was very disappointed in the lack of wide width offerings overall... ultimately, I returned these.

I have heal tendinitis and these shoes feel so great.

The shoe is way too narrow and my feet hang off. Please bring back the original foot shape in wide for more shoes. Not the shoe for me. I can't speak to its comfort during an actual run.

Absolutely love the fit. The width is perfect and so is the amount of padding in the bottom. I can lift and run comfortably, and they are super cute, as well. Only thing is that I would request that more colors are added to the options (specifically more aesthetic colors, preferably no neons). I got the black and love them.

I used my Escalante 3s for everything; walking around campus, crossfit, short runs and lifting. Still in excellent condition after 1 year of consistent use. Fits my narrow, ballerina feet perfectly!

I use my shoes to workout. I'm also on my feet all day at work and I never have sore feet. I love the Escalante 3 and the Lone Peak 6 for my hiking shoes. Bring back the 6!! The 7th and 8th aren't as good.

I have a few foot issues (I'm old) & it's not easy finding a comfortable fit in a walking shoe. I purchased the Escalante style & absolutely love them. They are so well designed - my toes aren't slamming into the ends, the width accommodates my bunions, the cushioning in the soles provide great shock absorption, & last but not least, they're pretty!

Love the shoe fit but please make it a true black!

I have pretty normal feet, normal to high arch (but nothing crazy), and I don't have a high volume foot by any means. I've had several pairs of escalantes and have loved them. In this model, the tongue is unfortunately sewn to the sides of the shoe, which is a great idea to prevent the tongue not sliding around, but it means there's a finite amount of space in the mid foot area. Even with the laces loosened entirely, it's still much too tight around the top of my mid foot for any sort of run. Such a bummer, beacuse I really want to love these, but they're just incredibly uncomfy.

I love the fit of this shoe so much- it's the most comfortable I've ever found. But the top of the shoe got holes within just a few months which was incredibly disappointing.

I love altras, I have 3 different models and have also bought my dad a couple pairs as well. But... is it possible to refine the features offered here? For example, I use the Escalante for road running. In Portland. Where it rains. The toe is constantly getting WET and so dirty because the entire foot is that sock like material. Socks are notorious for soaking up water. Can we get a little waterproof toe guard please? Maybe some DWR? Also, for ROAD shoes, you would think some reflective would be offered somewhere. My Superior's have reflective, but if that is truly a "trail" shoe, why is it more necessary to have reflective on there than on a road shoe, in a CITY, where we are much more likely to get hit by traffic and where there are more headlights to actually illuminate the shoe? I'm so confused by the feature sets here.... I love Altra for the footbed and zero drop and cushioning and am always on the look out when new pairs come out, but I really think some additional thought could be put into the features and kinds of shoes that are offered. Also, the lifestyle shoes really don't look like lifestyle at all. Lifestyle is supposed to look more versatile and wearable and I really don't feel it's hitting the mark. Please give me a reason to buy more shoes from Altra!!

I've been dealing with PF for months, I've found these to be the best for overall wearing. Enough cushion with the Zero Drop. They have worked GREAT for me!

I love the look and feel of these shoes, but the laces are too short. I have very high arches and because the laces make me have to tie my shoes tighter than typical my toes go numb and my feel ache if I wear them too long.
